Throughout this course, you will explore:
- Introduction to Shiatsu: Learn about the history and principles of Shiatsu, and how it can complement massage therapy.
- Understanding Meridians and Pressure Points: Explore the concept of meridians, the energy pathways in the body, and pressure points, the specific points along these pathways that are targeted in Shiatsu.
- Techniques of Shiatsu: Master the techniques of applying pressure using thumbs, fingers, and palms, assisted stretching, joint manipulation and mobilization.
- Safety and Contraindications: Understand the safety considerations and contraindications for Shiatsu.
- Practical Application: Learn how to incorporate Shiatsu into your massage sessions to address various health concerns, from relieving tension and pain to promoting relaxation and balance.
By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of Shiatsu and be equipped to safely and effectively incorporate Shiatsu techniques into your massage therapy practice.
Please note that this course is suitable for both aspiring massage therapists and experienced practitioners seeking to deepen their knowledge and enhance their practice. The course content aligns with the standards set by professional massage therapy associations and regulatory bodies. It is recommended that students have prior knowledge of basic massage techniques before taking this course.
