Welcome to the Practical Anatomy and Physiology for Massage Therapy course at the Moua Institute of Massage. This course is designed to provide a hands-on understanding of the human body’s structure and function as it relates to massage therapy.
This course takes a deeper focus into the skeletal and muscular systems of the body. During this course you will learn the names of each of the bones in the skeletal system and their bony landmarks. You will also learn the major muscle groups as well as the names, Actions, Origins, Insertions, and Nerve Innervations (AION)s of each individual muscle.
Key topics covered in this course include:
- Skeletal System: Understand the structure and function of the skeletal system, including major bones and joints. Practical sessions will involve palpation techniques to identify bony landmarks.
- Muscular System: Learn about the different types of muscles, their functions, and how they respond to massage. Hands-on sessions will focus on locating and working with various muscle groups.
By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology, and be able to apply this knowledge in a practical setting, providing effective and safe massage therapy treatments.
Please note that this course is suitable for both aspiring massage therapists and experienced practitioners seeking to deepen their knowledge and enhance their practice. The course content aligns with the standards set by professional massage therapy associations and regulatory bodies.
